DR KENNY CLARK MB.ChB BSc (Hons) FRACGP

GENERAL PRACTITIONER
With a special interest in Diabetes and Metabolic Syndrome
Dr Kenny was born on the edge of the Kalahari desert but raised in Scotland. After completing a degree in Sports Science, he went on to study medicine at the University of Glasgow. Dr Kenny fell in love with an Australian girl and emigrated to Townsville in 2008. He did a number of rural placements whilst attached to the The Townsville Hospital and worked in a variety of roles, notably in ICU.
After solid grounding in the Australian Health system, he became a Fellow of the Royal College of General Practitioners as a specialist GP. Dr Kenny enjoys helping individuals and family members, young and old, achieve optimum health outcomes.
Being a Type 1 Diabetic, Dr Kenny has a passion for the care and management of Diabetes and also general health. He wants diabetics of all ages to live as full and healthy a life as possible. A keen sportsman and community minded, Kenny regularly gives talks to interested groups on healthy living and diabetes management.

Dr Simon is an INDEPENDENT GENERAL PRACTITIONER who works from our rooms with a special interest in skin cancer medicine and surgery.
SKIN DOCTOR - DrSimon Skin Clinic
Dr Simon grew up in the beautiful state of Sabah, East Malaysia (Borneo). After completing his medical training and internship in the UK, he arrived in Australia in 1991 for a working holiday but never left. He worked as a resident for a couple of years in various hospitals throughout Perth before arriving in Townsville in 1993.
Dr Simon was one of the original members of the Cardiothoracic team at the Mater Hospital Townsville. Today, he still works as an assisting surgeon at the same hospital.
Dr Simonʼs passion in skin cancer care started in 2004, when he discovered there was such a great need for skin cancer treatment amongst the North Queensland community. He offers comprehensive skin check and skin cancer diagnosis. He also has the facilities to perform skin biopsy, excision, and other skin cancer treatment outside the hospital settings. He is excited to be joining The Family GP Clinic and The Diabetic GP Clinic team in 2020.
DR AIMEE SMITH MBBS FRACGP FARGP ABN 67 572 463 727
Dr Aimee is an INDEPENDENT GENERAL PRACTITIONER who works from our rooms with special interest in Rural and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health.
Born and raised in Townsville and having completed her medical training at James Cook University, Aimee feels privileged to be looking after families in the community she grew up in.
Aimee’s areas of interests have evolved from the clinical experiences she has had during her specialist training. She has a special interest in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, diabetes management as well as women’s and children’s health.
Aimee has attained her fellowship from the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and will soon also gain her fellowship in Rural General Practice after working in Ingham and Palm Island. Aimee is excited to be joining The Diabetic GP Clinic team and looks forward to meeting you soon.
Dr Alexandra Gillie MBBS FRACGP ABN 45 455 881 036
DR Alex is an INDEPENDENT GENERAL PRACTITIONER who works from our rooms with a special interest in women and children's health, as well as preventative and mental health.
Born and raised in Hobart, Dr Alex trained at the university of Tasmania. She then moved to Townsville to complete her internship and has remained in Queensland ever since. Dr Alex has spent the last 6 years working in rural Queensland and completed her fellowship in 2017. She has recently moved back to Townsville with her partner and son to be closer to family.
Through her previous time in rural practices, Alex has experienced a wide variety of general practice medicine and has spent time seeking extra training in the areas of skin cancer medicine, child health and mental health.
Alex enjoys looking after people throughout their life, appreciating the opportunity to watch families grow with time.
Dr Rosalind Hiddins MBBS FRACGP ABN 74 508 926 660
Dr Rosalind is an INDEPENDENT GENERAL PRACTITIONER who works from our rooms with a special interest in Family Planning – IUD (Intrauterine Device) insertion.
Originally from Townsville, Dr Ros completed her Medical Degree locally at James Cook University Townsville. She is quite familiar with the unique challenges faced by local Defence families having moved with her Army husband and three kids around Australia many times over the past 15 years. Most recently posted from Brisbane, Dr Ros and her family have moved back to Townsville and have decided to settle long term.
Dr Ros has been a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners since 2012. She enjoys getting to know her patients and working with them to achieve their health goals. “One of the unique privileges of being a General Practitioner is to assist people in the full spectrum of life. I am passionate about promoting good health and well-being from new-born babies through to adulthood and Senior Years.” Dr Ros has undertaken additional training in Women’s and Children’s health, Mental Health, as well as Skin Cancer Medicine. She is qualified in Intrauterine Device insertion/removal, Implanon insertion/removal and can provide full-body skin checks as well as travel advice.
Dr Ellen Comben MBBS BSc FRACGP ABN 65 120 225 597
Dr Ellen is an INDEPENDENT GENERAL PRACTITIONER who works from our rooms with a special interest in paediatrics, antenatal care, women’s health and skin cancer medicine.
Dr Ellen was born and raised in Mackay until mid high school when her family moved to the Gold Coast.
She studied an undergraduate Bachelor of Exercise Science at Griffith University followed by her Bachelor of Medicine/Surgery at the University of Queensland.
Ellen completed her Residency at Gold Coast University Hospital, as well as an additional year of training in Paediatrics at Queensland Children’s Hospital in Brisbane.
Ellen completed her General Practice Training in 2020 and has continued to live and work as a GP on the Gold Coast with her partner and two small children.
Dr Ellen loves the variety of General Practice and feels privileged to support families on their journey through life.
Her special interests are in paediatrics, antenatal care, women’s health and skin cancer medicine. However, Dr Ellen is very happy to see all members of the family, from babies to grandparents!
Dr Ellen also has completed her Professional Certificate of Skin Cancer Medicine and regularly sees patients for skin checks and skin excisions.
DR SIDNEY CALDER MBBS FRACGP CWH
Dr Sidney is an INDEPENDENT GENERAL PRACTITIONER who works from our rooms with a special interest in paediatrics, antenatal care and women’s health..
After growing up in Townsville, Dr Sidney Calder completed her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at James Cook University.
She completed her residency at Townsville University Hospital and is excited to be undertaking her training with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
Dr Sidney is particularly passionate about Antenatal care, Women's Health and Paediatrics. She has completed her Certificate of Women's Health through RANZCOG and is an antenatal shared care provider, being aligned with Townsville University's model of care.
Dr Sidney is passionate about working together with patients to help provide support and education regarding all aspects of health care.
DR IRFAAN MUSSA MBBS
Dr Irfaan is a GP REGISTRAR.
A final year GP Registrar, Dr Irfaan is in the final stretch of his GP specialist training.
He has a particular interest in Palliative Care, Geriatric Medicine, Cardiovascular Medicine, Men’s Health as well as Renal & Respiratory Medicine.
Dr Irfaan was born in New Zealand and studied medicine at Griffith University on the Gold Coast. He completed his junior doctor years at Redcliffe and The Prince Charles Hospitals.
As well as working in general practices in Townsville and Ayr he has also worked in their Emergency Departments and in the Palliative Care Department at The Townsville University Hospital.

DR NAQ MBBS
Dr Naq is a GP REGISTRAR.
Dr Naq is a proud alumnus of James Cook University, Australia, graduating in the class of 2018.
She has an extensive background in adult and pediatric medicine in 4 years of residency at Townsville University Hospital prior to developing her professional career in General Practice.
Dr Naq found interest and passion in women's health, children's health, and sexual health.
Originally from the vibrant tapestry of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, she has woven my professional journey into the fabric of Townsville, where she has called home for over a decade. Dr Naq says that the community of Townsville has become more than a workplace; it's a testament to the bonds forged with those she has had the privilege to serve and care for.
Beyond the clinic, Dr Naq is a devoted parent, relishing her days off to indulge quality time with her little one.
She says that this personal connection fuels her professional dedication, ensuring a compassionate and comprehensive approach to patient care.

CANDICE CUMMINS RN, CDE
Registered Nurse / Credentialed Diabetes Educator
Candice Cummins is a Registered Nurse, having completed her studies in 2019. Having several years of medical reception experience, Candice decided it was time to take her passion in health care a step further, undertaking a Bachelor of Nursing with Central Queensland University in Townsville in 2017.
Born in Victoria on a Mallee farm, a working holiday around Australia became short lived. Only four months in, and a long weekend in Townsville, Candice and her partner decided to call Townsville home. Twelve years on, they are married with 3 beautiful little girls keeping them busy.
In her spare time, Candice enjoys spending time with friends and family, netball, kayaking, singing, fishing and camping.
